2015 News > Unique fundraising campaign designed for The Park School by Flynn & Friends

June 22, 2015

Buffalo, NY – A plot of sunflowers outlining the footprint of its proposed new science building was the focal point of a concept developed by Flynn & Friends to help The Park School of Buffalo with both its "Science@Park" Capital Campaign and its 2015-2016 Annual Fund.

The agency worked with the school's administration to plan the "Dual Appeal," as it was called, a fundraising hybrid believed to be one of the first of its kind in the development world.

The campaign kicked off with a mailing of sunflower seed packets to the school's publics and teased the idea behind the campaign with the tagline "Planting Park's Future." Recipients were encouraged to plant the seeds and send pictures of their growing gardens to the school during the next growing season.

Direct mail, email, and on-site signage, including interpretive signage at the proposed location of the new science building, called the Knopp-Hailpern Center, were elements of the campaign.

The Science@Park Capital Campaign has been Park’s most successful campaign to date. It recently exceeded its $4 million goal.
